Rams Break Own 4x400 Relay Record At State
By Bruce Kettelle
The Runnin’ Rams have done it again. Burning up the track at the state championship tournament in Columbus the Trotwood-Madison Rams claimed the 2009 title in the 4x400 relay breaking their own record they set just last year.
Julius Ruby, Jordan Paschel, Michael Jordan and William Henry blasted out of the gate deciding the race before the first handoff. The team ran a 3:13:32 beating their 2008 record run by 16 hundredths.
Track coach Randy Waggoner’s last minute add of Jordan to the relay team really paid off giving the Rams their only win this year at the state competition.
Trotwood will still be the one to watch in this event for 2010. All four of the runners will return next season.
Also spotted in Columbus was retired Trotwood coach John Mckinney. McKinney said he just couldn’t stay away. He came back from Alabama to see his alma mater do it one more time.
